Why are grey aliens from Zeta Reticuli here?

My theory is this. The greys have been studying our sun, and they realize something that we have not yet detected. The sun is about to enter a period of expansion. It will only last a few thousand years, a mere hiccup in history, but an event like this 75 million years ago is what REALLY killed off the dinosaurs. The average temperature at the equator will reach 90 degrees celsius (194f). Most life on earth will die, there will be massive flooding, and tornadoes the size of small hurricanes. Global warming is being popularized as a cover story so the general populace won't panic at first. Meanwhile, the greys are helping us develop the technology to migrate a large fraction of our population to Mars, which will temporarily become warm enough to be comfortable (oxygen can be baked out of surface minerals using solar power). They can't just ferry us there because their ships are too small, and they have too little of element 115 to power their reactors. We have a little over 80 years to get going before things get so bad that society collapses. Your denials are, of course, proof of the conspiracy

I assume, given the , that you are kidding (but I have enough experience around here never to be sure)....

By the way, given the thread in Science & Technology about collaboration between Science and The Arts, the fashion community would like to know if we can get aliens in colors other than grey? Maybe a nice tartan?

If you know your alien conspiracies, I think it was Bob Lazar who reported that the US Gov't was holding two different types of Grey aliens, a Reptilian alien, and a Humanoid alien at Area 51 (where we had reverse-engineered their spacecraft that had crashed here.) The spacecraft used element 115 in two ways. It is radioactive enough to power a small reactor by conventional fission. But at the same time, it's nucleus is so big that the weak nuclear force (which was also known as gravity B) extended outside the atom, and could be focused magnetically into a beam with which the craft reached out and pulled itself towards its destination. The smaller Grey aliens were special, because they were from a planet orbiting Zeta Reticuli, which is only a little over 50 light years away. According to the Magic-12 conspiracy, twelve humans were selected and allowed to visit Zeta Reticuli. Only ten chose to return to earth. They supposedly recounted a fascinating story of a planet organized into a series of small semi-autonomous collectives.

You guys should READ some of this stuff. It is easily as good as Tolkein's stories. I am SO convinced that someone should make a movie about it!!!

Ununpentium is scarce here, too. How much is needed to power a Grey spaceship, anyway?

I have read it in the past. It is nowhere near as good as Tolkien. It is generally muddled, rather poor fantasy with a side serving of self-promotion.

I just assumed it was because they didn't have steak or beer on their world.

Those seem to be perfectly good reasons to travel interstellar distances.

    It's Tolkien, "i" before "e".

Sorry, but I stopped reading at the mention of Lazar's name...he is a proven fraud and a liar...

The trip to Zeta 1/2 Reticuli is part of the so-called 'Serpo' mythology
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Serpo#Serpo

The descriptions of this system as related by the supposed astronauts are astronomically naive and inaccurate, completely at odds with the stories that would be brought back by anyone who really went to these stars.

To put it bluntly; it is a fabrication.

In the same vein.. Science is littered with examples, even from ancient times. And if one leisurely peruses their pages, dictionaries also heighten the problem, sufficient to make one think that the 'rule' may be counterfeit.

    I thought "science" was weird.

Does any of this originate with Nancy Lieder, or did she
come along later and add non-canonical details of her own?
I discussed Planet X with her quite a bit, and last I saw some
of my posts were still on her website.

    The greys are here because--

    - They want our water, and made the original "V" franchise to make the public blame it all on reptiloids.

    - They want our women, of course.

    - They're called greys because they're actually descended from exiled Confederate soldiers who fled Earth after their defeat. They go after cows because they are ticked off that they forgot to bring any livestock with them. Their appearance? Got too close to a gamma burst on the way out and mutated.

    - They're just waiting for the Earth to hatch so that they can capture the valuable lifeform gestating in our core.

Actually robonoid was talking about the unpublished author Samantha Tolkein, who is not related to JRR Tolkien (hence the different spelling) and who is so untalented that even her attempts at self-publication ended in failure. (The Kindle has a built-in AI ap that deletes files if the prose falls below a certain standard. Dan Brown paid to have it deactivated for his books.)

Er, there wasn't a point to this thread, was there?

As long as the shop you got it at has "Ethel the Aardvark Goes Quantity Surveying," I think we're all OK. I think I'll head over to the Cheese Shop. I'm feeling a bit peckish.

It is possible that the origin of the story came from The Dulce Book...

ETA link to the original version more detailed

    http://www.thewatcherfiles.com/dulce_book.htm

....In particular from these description about the "Greys."

And when Ouroboros comes out, then what do they do with it??

The greys are here because it is handier for the buses, and closer to the shops.

    Everyone knows that.
