Are the physical properties of Sedna similar or different to the properties of comets like Halley and KBO's like Quaoar? I've never heard of a red comet.

From what I've heard, only its location and orbit classify it as a comet, or inner Oort Cloud object. I kinda dislike how people have these initial press releases that get lots of hype, but then anything that might be follow-up never gets much attention. Does anyone know of more work that's been done on this object?
