I am reminded that the award to Hideki Yukawa for predicting the carrier of the strong force was awarded to him upon the discovery , by other researchers, of mu mesons.....which was wrong. Ultimately the discovery of pi mesons vindicated the error by the Nobel committee.
As we have yet to see a chunk of empty space expand in a laboratory at superluminal velocity, like Guthian/Linde inflationary spacetime.....and the high-z galaxy surveys are currently coming under intense scrutiny (NGC3314's thread), this still bears close watching.
I will bet a cold fudge sundae the data stream from the JWT, when launched, will only exacerbate the problem.

Although, if we did, there would be no one around to either award or receive the prize.
