are guidelines to be taken seriously?, are moderators above the rules and the law?

    to ADMINS:

last month mod tusenfem repeatedly violated rule 2, and rule 5 in posts #8 and #22 in the "momentum..." thread.

I did not argue and, following guidelines, wrote to 8 moderators and to all four admins.
I reminded them that violating rule 5 means (as the guidelines say) to violate the law in most civilized countries: mod divulged private details about my person with the clear purpose to discredit me as a scientist, forcing me to add some more details in post #28.

I demanded that all those patent violations of privacy be deleted from the thread,
on Aug 31, when I found out who is the owner of this forum I sent him an email, reminding him of my PM and inviting him to join discussion.

To date, after 4 weeks, not one of them deigned to reply. Although this is a serious issue.
I received no reply to my PM's, the only response has been the closure of the thread, for a risible reason.

Now I receive an infraction for arguing in the thread with a mod. What should I do, write again to you?, now,
What's going on here?, is this the meaning of the rules? what is the message you are sending to guests who want to join:

when a respectable and respected man joins this forum he must give up his dignity?

Spark, that thread was apparently closed because you said you were going to be away - this is done occasionally with busy/contentious threads to avoid the poster having to face a large number of questions when they return. I'm sure you could have asked for it to be reopened. (Although, you seem to have given up / conceded the point anyway in the later thread on the subject.)

Emm... I Think you are now in violation of Rule 17...

    17. Moderator Actions

If there is a rule violation, then a moderator will take action. This may include: the deletion of a word or phrase (if it breaks the rules), the removal of an entire post (if it is beyond redemption, or if it's a spam, etc.), the merging of a new thread with an existing one on the same topic, the closing of a thread if it wanders too far off-topic or gets too heated, a gentle warning to a user or users, a not-so-gentle-warning, and as a last resort, the banning of a user. This banning may be temporary or permanent, as outlined above. If a moderator gives you advice, we advise you to take it.

If you disagree with a moderator action, then PM or email the moderator, a different moderator, or an administrator. If it's a post by a moderator that you disagree with, you can report the post using the usual mechanism. We will review the case and take action as needed.

Spark, mentioning that you're a linguist wasn't what made people aware that you have no idea about what you're talking about in that thread, you managed that perfectly well on your own.

You edited your first post after there were 12 replies. That's revisionism. How can anyone tell what was in that post before you edited it?

You think that #8 and #22 are civility violations? I've been treated more roughly than that when the profs I was giving a talk to knew that I was a student and that it was my first talk. Heck, I was less civil to you in that same thread.

You also said yourself that you are a linguist and not a scientist. At that point someone else mentioning it isnt a privacy violation.

Give up his dignity? No. Give it away, maybe.

I've always been taught that respect was something that was earned.

I have no idea who you are, so why should I respect you??

I've closed the thread so that the members don't pile on too much. I think what was needed to be said, has been said.

Administrators and moderators can still post to the thread - and the thread was directed by the OP at admins - so that seems OK.

If anyone wants to add something (including spark) please report this post.
Get up, a get-get, get down.
