It appears that NASA is hiding the images of which the wobble-, wiggle-, one-eyed-stereo, VISIDEP, jigglevision closeup is made -- here and here, towards the top of the image.Originally Posted by jumpjack
I'd give you the links off the official JPL website, but right now I'm getting a database error on the Spirit raw images. Those file names should help you find these Spirit Sol 156 pancam images, though.
[Edit: The database storm is over and Spirit raw images are available again. The left and right images of the Cobraheads are hidden here and here.]
Thanks a lot for the links.
Here they are my results:

Detail (amazing!)
Really strange.
Oh my god, woo-woo are coming, GET READYYYY!!!
Wow, I never appreciated just how funky those rocks were until I saw your animation. That is really bizarre. I'll be interested in what sort of explanation they come up with.Originally Posted by jumpjack
Everything I need to know I learned through Googling.
A little wiggle is good. A lot of wiggle is bad. I'm getting dizzy from your animation.
The middle has the right amount to allow 3-D visual without a headache. The near and far jump too far to be comfortable. Plus, the wiggle rate is too high.
Pretty cool, JumpJack. Is that an animated gif? Have you other examples?
This is not my guilt, it's due to the images themselves! They cover a too high distance on the terrain, so the parallax is too different from the top of the images to the bottom of them, to allow a good "wiggle-view": you will have to use this program, together with red-blue glasses or my device to appreciate the full image at a glance.Originally Posted by Irishman
If I slow down it, I loose the 3d-effect, as the interesting object is too far from the observer. You can try changing the speed by yourself using the freeware version of Ulead Gif Animator or similar programs.Plus, the wiggle rate is too high.
Yes, an animated gif: you can find other example on my site, although unfortunately some links are broken due to hosting server problems.Originally Posted by aldo12xu
Thats really cool that trick. One way to make them better is to crossfade from one pic to the next. Just two or three frames makes a lot of difference, they're less jarring and nauseatingOriginally Posted by jumpjack
