The little buggers know it, too.

As far as waking up, I guess I fall somewhere in between. I get out of bed right away, but I'm hardly ready to go as soon as I get up. I think I just press on out of habit or willpower. Once I take a shower, I become human again.

People around me have tried talking to me when I first wake up. This is a big mistake, because I only hear a jumble of syllables until I've taken the aforementioned shower.

Bite your tongue Mr. Alexander! [-X Throw the pillow at the cat! Gently, throw the pillow at the cat! My cat is so used to me just rising the pillow, and she bolts. Of course, she thinks were playing. No wonder I crashed every so often - just sleep for 20 hours straight due to total exhaustion. ANYBODY WANT A CAT?

Actually, I thought you used the pillow to cover your face, so the cat wouldn't be able to stare at you.

These posts just reinforce my theory that cats are, deep down inside, evil. [-(

The cat stares at you because it wants to know why you bothered setting the alarm if you didn't want to get up. It's just trying to be helpful, and also, a bit of breakfast would not be a bad idea as well. 8)

My cats stare, and if I look at them, they start meowing. If that doesn't work, they're happy to walk on me. If I put the pillow over my head though, they know it's a lost cause.

I don't drink coffee, so I'm obviously somewhere in between. All I need to get going for a new day is a shower as soon as my eyes open. If I push it back much further than "immediately", I tend to be tired and grumpy (and unmotivated) all day long. It's just one of those things, you know?

As a rotating shift worker, there are entire DAYS that I never really wake up. In fact, tomorrow should be one of them.

Stupid midnight shifts... and they weren't even mine! :x

I'm a "owl" myself. Need 2 cups of coffee before I can even talk in the morning.

Tried that but the furry thing just got smarter...

Now I have the ultimate in cat wake-up calls. My cat actually knows how to turn on my alarm! He doesn't exactly know which button to press, just walks on the clock/radio/alarm thing until he steps on the right button. I've seen him do it (at times when I have been awake but not out of bed). Walks into the bedroom, jumps on the bedside table, then onto the alarm. It's very deliberate every morning at 6.00am-ish to let me know it's feeding time. This is fine on weekdays when I have to get up anyway, but on weekends as well - AARRGH!!! Yes, I've tried turning the volume right down etc. but I always forgot to turn it back up for Monday morning and ended up being late for work!

Noticed no tea drinkers. Well, a good cup (or two) of well brewed Assam tea first thing is a must for me. Can never get it whenever I'm in the States, all I ever seem to find is that horrible Lipton's stuff - bleh!

    We need more tea drinkers.
I said I didn't need anything to wake up, doesn't mean I don't enjoy drinking tea in the morning. Doing so right now actually.

Is that why I can't stand tea?

There's a possibility I might be in the U.K. for a short time within the next couple of years. Maybe I should give tea a try there, if I go....

Definately do so, because Britons can't make a decent cup of coffee.

I'm a big tea drinker. Tea and cola are really my only sources of caffeine. I just don't drink it in the morning. I usually pick up some imported stuff at the "fine foods" store; otherwise, I just drink Teatly or Red Rose.
