Eric Petigura and Geoffrey Marcy, planet hunters supreme, have measured 941 stars spectroscopically for their carbon and oxygen contents. Results indicate that stars showing enrichment of carbon and oxygen in their disks...usually thicker rather than thinner disks, presumably from type 2 supernovae....offer a good chance of having planets equally enriched, and therefore at least the possibility of finding exotic carbon enriched chemistry there. Interesting.
