Popular chewing gum brands of the 1920s: Clove and Black Jack.

Marlboro cigarettes were introduced in 1924. Ironically, they were at first advertised as cigarettes for women! Later, of course, Marlboros were advertised with Western/gritty cowboy themes...

I saw the word "baby", and immediately thought of little known facts about children...so...

Toddlers* who (for whatever reason) cut their heads open WILL BLEED LIKE THEIR BRAINS ARE FALLING OUT!!!

This is something I did not know when it happened to my toddler Son...

*actually this applies to every age...it's just unsettling when it happens to a child.

But, did the baby live? Was it even alive at birth?

When teaching English to Arabic speakers, one finds they are inclined to drop the S at the end of plurals.

When teaching English to Spanish speakers, one finds they are inclined to drop Hs from the beginning of words ("harbour" becomes "arbour", for instance) and also add Hs to the beginning of words that don't have them ("arbour" becomes "harbour", for instance).

OK, I'll keep it going - When you sneeze, all voluntary actions in your body stops, including your heart if its about to beat. In other words, try talking, seeing, etc, everything seems to stop momentarily when you sneeze. And talking about sneezing, ever wonder about the origin of the practice of saying "Bless you" when someone sneezes? I heard it came from the "black death" ages - one of the first symptoms of contracting the disease was a sneeze so when someone heard you sneeze, they said "God bless you and have mercy on your soul" (assuming you were soon to die). Strange we keep doing this to this day. Mr Q
