    Minor Issue With Endeavour

This was in the paper this morning. It made me giggle and thought I would share.

(For those not familiar with the lovebug, it's a pest endemic to Florida that often ends up smudged on cars, and wrecks the paint job. IIRC it was introduced to help get rid of mosquitoes and, with no natural predators, soon multiplied out of control.)

That's a popular urban legend. They are not even native to Florida. They migrated here from Texas and infest all of the Gulf states.

Yes, and they've been all over our area the past week. As I drive home each afternoon, the gentle impact of the bugs squishing on my windshield, two at a time, is consistent as a metronome. We must have cleaned two thousand of 'em off the front bumper today.

They must have migrated because this has been the first week of relief. I can't stand scrubbing them off my car but even that is more tolerable than having to go through the house, three or four times a day, and sweeping the cluster of dead bugs by all the doorways.

How do I undo that link? I just went to use it to show a friend and it's been archived. In it's place is a pretty political statement. I don't want to tarnish my squeaky clean record.

Too late: I had already seen that! Not only is it a political cartoon now, but it's poking at the Insurance Industry, which insults me deeply! I call for a pitch-fork and torch bearing mob to descend upon CG's location now!

(Okay, I'm not insulted and didn't know exactly what it's referencing since it's specific to Florida.) That's the problem with linking web-comics; they tend to use temporary links for the current panels, so they'll change once they're no longer current.

Here's the direct link to the image, but I don't know whether that will stay there indefinitely.

It's apparently a new property insurance law that covers everyone, insurers, reinsurers, ... etc. except homeowners.

    Loved the love-bug cartoon.
When I got back home from the launch (2 hours south of the Cape)
I could barely see out of my windshield.

East Coast? I used to live down in that area. Now I am about 40 minutes South. I just watch the launches from my back yard.

Yup, I usually watch them from my front door too.
But I wanted to get out of the house and get a better view since my boy was home from college.
