    "Strawberry Fields Forever" is the exception that proves the Second Law of Thermodynamics.

    And it certainly went higher on the charts than the Beatles first version of it: Electronic response and bandstructure modulation of carbon nanotubes in transverse electrical fields forever

    Strawberries were first grown by the owner of Jack Straw's Castle as a result of crossbreeding hops and barley.

    Originally strawberries were yellow elongated curved fruits but selective breeding by the Tudors introduced pits and left a load of useless bananas

    In the town where i was born there lived a man who sailed the seas, and he told us of his life in the land of Submarines. But I don't think that was the hole story.

    I've got an 'ole in me pocket.

    In a recent survey, only 23% of Earthlings reported feeling uptrodden. 39% said they were downtrodden, 32% said they were trodden, and 3% asked the surveyor if he had change for a twenty.

    The other 26% asked in which direction the old lady riding on a horse drinking whiskey out of a boot went.

    If I had a dollar for every time I saw a horse drinking whiskey out of a boot, I would have $5.64.

    On Wednesday morning, a horse told me to shut up.

    I asked if it would apologize if I gave it an apple.

    The horse said "Yes," so I gave it an apple.

    It munched the apple.

    Then told me to shut up again.

    My avatar's brother went to school and became a doctor. He wanted to specialize as an ENT, but every one of his patients complained of having a frog in their throat.

    Because of all the dark stuff, the Universe never really had a AAA+ credit anyway, that was a courtesy rating.

    I sing the Body electric;
    The armies of those I love engirth me, and I engirth them;
    They will not let me off till I go with them, respond to them,
    And discorrupt them, and charge them full with the charge of the Soul.

    Due to a vendor error, this Universe is being recalled for repair. The vendor which supplied the matter contaminated it with something that reacts with electromagnetic fields in unacceptable ways. You will not be charged for either the repair or the cost of disposing of this "bright matter."

    Buy one untrue fact, get three additional untrue facts for free!

    1) This is the only thread where untrue facts are posted.

    2) I like being IP-banned.

    3) Clicking on the "To contact the administrator click here" link does something.

    4) I won't get banned if I start an "America sucks because ..." thread to go along with the "America is great because ..." thread.

    On the paleocene amblipod side of family trees, one long leg is often just the wrong length but ideal for a knees up.

    Family trees rarely produce both nuts and fruits simutaneously unless twins are born in Antartica.

    Wooden legs run in our family fruit tree, noses run in Antarctic twins.

    If there are two full moons in a month (a blue moon) the tides are much higher and the surf is much rougher during the second full moon.
    (I actually heard someone say this on the radio this morning)

    The height of the tides at full Moon is
    given by multiplying the log of the Moons
    diameter in radians by the number of days
    from the beginning of the year. Alternatively
    the Admiralty tide tables might help.
