On BBC 3 a Digital Channel in the UK there is a prog called 'Dr Who Confidential' it's on after each episode and usualy covers the behind the scenes stuff. How they did special effects, costume design, interviews etc. After the new episode they did one dedicated to ES.

Thanks, captain. I'll be on the look out for that. At worst, I'll get to see it when the DVDs come out.
So many bugs, so little time.

Apparently that was specific to BBC America. On the BBC 1 version, there was a dedication at the beginning, and that was it.

I went back to look at my sources for that and found several that stated 1948. But from other sources you could deduce figures from 1946 to 1951. But the 1948 figure spread like wildfire once I put it online and Wikipedia borrowed it (along with big chunks of the rest of what I'd written).

What's even more fun is to see major British newspapers using transparent paraphrases of (accurate, fortunately) stuff I wrote back in 1990.

Elisabeth Sladen's physiognomy changed little over the years. Unlike her once equally lovely fellow Companion, Jo Grant (Katy Manning), also born 1946, who is today almost unrecognisable

This one really hurts. After our recent tornado tragedy, and this, the shock of see the Doctor shot has no feeling.
I met her once at a convention. The line seemed to go on for miles, and she went out of her way to take time to talk to each person. Thinking I was doing the right thing, I got my autograph and started to move on and she actually seemed a tad hurt. I will never forgive myself for that. I should have been more selfish. I wanted to say that I couldn't have you all to myself, now can I. Her and Lia Sargent, the voice of R. Dorothy on The Big O, have always been my favorites. Too much...too much.
