M44 and some Galaxies - 2 Panel Mosaic

This is a close-up of the BeeHive cluster featuring some of the Galaxies within and many more on its surroundigs but not in this fov and consist of two panels (Mosaic).

Welcome back Efrain. Clouds must have been nearly as bad down your way as up here. I've had virtually nothing to image all winter. One good night, a couple I might be able to salvage something and others I tried during sucker holes but ended up with dozen or so partials, mostly RGB data as seeing was poor.

I'd not known of the galaxies lurking in the Beehive. Odd that the nearest and brightest, PGC 24400 has the least known (to most amateurs at least) catalogs listing it. It's over twice as close and 2.5 times brighter than NGC 2637 and IC 2388

NGC 2637 mag 15.7, 450 million light-years
IC 2338 mag 15.8, 455 million light-years
PGC 24400 mag 14.7, 212 million light-years

PGC 24400 gets no respect it seems, at least from the major catalogs. They were made from naked eye searches. Sometimes they overlooked the obvious.

Thanks Rick, I was involved more on the ALPO's on planetarys and now trying to make some time since Saturn is the only observable subject. I have seen PGC24400 but not on the other two thats when I decided to make a two panel mosaic (What a Pain) but managed to blend them in and capture the three, Thanks again Rick.
