    Hasselbled Cameras

Just learned today that these were the cameras used to shoot the wonderful Apollo 11 frames- my question is: How many went up, and was there one mounted on the LM?

The ALSJ has a whole article on the Apollo 11 cameras:

    http://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/pao/Hi...lsj/frame.html

In the menu on the left of page, click on Apollo 11. Then, look in the Background Material under the heading 'Hasselblad Cameras'.

A good, but long report on all of the early manned photographic equipment can be on for JSC Oral history website. Richard Underwood was head of photography during Apollo.

Finally, The film used on Apollo-11 was the same type carried on the other flights - a Kodak special thin-based and thin emulsion double-perforated 70 mm film - which permitted 160 pictures in color or 200 on black/white in each loading.

    Get me some of that!

    Hi all,

Would any of you guys be able to supply me with dimensions of the Apollo Hasselblads. I've modelled a series of 1/6th scale lunar geology tools and am now trying to get my hands on dimensions for the cameras used on the lunar missions, particularly the Hasselblads, but can't seem to source very much info on them.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Thanks for those Irishman but I've been through all those, still no actual dimensions. I even wrote to Hasselblad but they weren't interested. Oh well, I suppose it'll have to be rough sizes from scaling photo's.

    Thanks for your help.

    Jim
