    star color?

Long time ago I remember watching Star Gazer when it was Star Hustler. Jack was going on about the color of a particular star being a unique shade of vermilion to the point that the hue was given its own name.

My memory says the star in question was Betelgeuse but the Wikipedia (lol) article says nothing about the subject.

They were probably talking about Herschel's Garnet Star. It is not something you'll see naked eye, but it is bright enough for small telescopes to show its color.
