    Quality of moderation - ATM/CT

This is a two-thread poll. This poll is inspired by this thread. Having read through the complaints and the previous poll, I think that there should be separate polls for ATM and non-ATM sections of the forum. My rationale is that the complaints seem to be raised mostly by ATM supporters.

This poll is intended for expressing opinions about moderator action IN the ATM/CT sections (i.e. Proving Grounds). The poll about mainstream sections is here.

I thought somewhere between Too Lenient and About Right, but closer to the latter. I think the mods have to give some benefit of the doubt, even though you often see people repeating the same nonsense over and over again, and making promises (such as "I will be providing evidence") that they obviously have no intention of keeping.

The answer I gave is "too lenient" with the ATM proponents. They are getting away with impunity: impertinent answers, repeated weaseling while not answering the questions, redirection, diversions, etc.

On the other hand, the moderation is too strict with the people who question the ATM theories. The moderators are not doing their jobs in the ATM forum, this has been going on forever. The only exception is tusenfem who really participates in the scientific discussion and cut short any fringe stuff.

Since you chose to make this a public complaint, macaw, here's a public response.

Do not even try to make excuses for your rude behavior, macaw. You've been warned time and time again: if you cannot interact with other members of the forum in a civil way, you will take infractions.

Let me add another warning to the stack, and make sure you're paying close attention this time: do not continue your attempts to use the reports mechanism to act out your little grudges against everybody proposing ATMs. No. They're not all sock puppets. No, we're not going to act as your cat's paw, particularly in light of the rude way you've been interacting with them. If you continue any of that behavior, you're going to take more heat.

My most recent beef concerning the proving grounds actually concerns the closure of a thread that I thought should have been allowed to remain open, but on the whole I think the moderation tends to be too permissive. OP's too often get away with evasions and half-answers to questions.

I have noticed, of late, a curious determination that this CT will actually be willing and able to learn. This one isn't so bad! Except they're all showing the same behaviour, just slightly more polite wording. And only slightly. I still voted "about right," because I think it is, but several people who aren't mods seem willing to make excuses along those lines.
