Try reading up on isostatic rebound, it's definitely true, though it's not only rising, more of a seesaw, with the parts that wasn't under the last ice getting lower as those parts that were get higher. E.g. Denmark has the north end rising and the south end lowering. The middle, where there is no vertical movement has horizontal movement instead, from the dropping to the rising parts.
