Hello, can anyone please tell me where and when I can view the lunar x. thanks.
I am guessing wildly that the "X" is at the center in the vertical
direction and well to the left of center in the horizontal direction,
at the very edge of the terminator in this APOD image:

It doesn't impress me much. :-) I had to search around the image
for a while to decide that that was probably what they meant.
It should next be visible sometime on September 14 or 15, depending
on your location. First quarter is September 15 at 5:50 UT. The APOD
article says the X is visible for four hours just before first quarter.
But I expect that varies a lot with the Moon's librations. I don't have
the tools to give a more precise answer, but I know others here do.
