Well, So here we are, a lot closer than most it would seem...What a daag. If you have not looked at my profile; I am Mark Lee. I live in Springvale Wanganui. 57 years old and only working part time.. I am the secretary of Wanganui's astronomicle Society and we open to the public on friday nights and open for clubs and schools. We have a meeting at the observatory hall on the forth wednesday of every month. As a club we are very informal. We meet across the road at 'Rosie O'Gradys' as often as we like...... Hope to hear from you soon ,. Mark Lee.
Hi Procyan, I´m awfully sorry for this late reply. I simply wasn´t aware of this page, I was only looking at my "private messages" page. As to my signature 1+e^i*pi, I saw this some time ago in a museum (Technik Museum München) where it was written in giant letters on a wall and an explanation was given, IIRC, that Gauss (the mathematician) presented this from time to time to his students to check their mathematical scills. It also said that this equation nicely combined 5 fundamental numbers, namely 1, 0, e, i [=sqrt(-1)] and pi. Because, as you know, e^i*pi = cos(pi) + i*sin(pi), and cos(pi)=-1, sin(pi)=0, the equation can be re-written to read 1+cos(pi)+i*sin(pi) = 1-1+i*0 = 0. Here we are. I don´t think that there is more behind this equation. But I like it, because at first glance it looks so mysterious. Greetings to the poor people who are living (hanging) “head down” in your area (at least as seen from my vantage point) Regards DHD40
