You know what I might do, mahesh? Invent a lightweight, portable, easily adjustable, and rock-solid binoc holder that lets you lay back on the ground, or in a sleeping bag, and stare at the heavens in hands-off style! Battery-powered motorized version with hand-held remote (sleeping-bag safe) arriving in 2010...
re the binos....you can always 'steady' against something.....inner city/backyards....lamppost, tree, use bricks / books, whatever....
(throb of ones heart, overrides steady hand(s))
Wow! Some catching up to do!
Megrfl - yes, thank you!
PraedSt - Thanks! Lots of collaboration with others, and great ideas on their part, so can only claim part of the credit. I feel I can claim all of the impetus, though, for if I hadn't pushed it, we'd wake up to the old BAUT each day.
jlhredshift - yep! Home again.
mahesh - BD is alive and well, thank God. If he ever left us, I'd have to hunt him down and drag him back to life.
nokton - Thanks for the info! I will look into the Canon's. Might be a bit out of my used price range, though... (and I've a pretty steady hand)
Canons, huh? Any good sources?
Hi ,mugs, binos you interested in for astronomy? look no further than Canons
image stabilisation series. I have the 15x50 and it's superb, no jitter in the image,
and the resolution across the field is superb, the constuction is faultless.
mugs....any news of / from BD, yet?
Are you home yet?
I like the new forum layout Mugs. Nice one.
Nothing yet, picture wise. Are you back and settled? Hope all is well.
Thanks, megrfl! One of these days I'll have to create some albums.
