I was wondering what keeps HST in it's orbit. I can't imagine that it can store enough fuel to maintain it's hight for several years. But on the other hand I think that that's the only possibility. Please let me know.

It's boosted into a higher orbit with each shuttle servicing mission. That makes up for altitude lost from drag.

That's what I thought in the first place, but I figured that there was much more drag. Thanks.

It's interesting that Hubble is one of the very few spacecraft without attitude thrusters. I think it has to do with the potential for messing up the mirror.

I'm sure it is, how do they unload the reaction wheels?

Magnetic torquers (http://www.gsfc.nasa.gov/gsfc/service/gallery/fact_sheets/spacesci/hst3-01/hubble_space_telescope_systems.htm)

Oh yeah, I don't often work on S/C in a field region high enough to use them.

Thanks.

And, what do they do with the dew shield when they're not using it?

For that matter, where's the finder scope on that thing?
