I see this mistake quite a bit in the print and TV media. Journalists confuse Earth's orbit with Earth Orbit.
For example, a statement "The LRO was boosted out of Earth's orbit to the moon."
Earth's orbit is around the Sun. Interplanetary spacecraft commonly are put into parking orbits around the Earth before they are boosted away.
The proper statement would be "The LRO was boosted out of Earth orbit to the moon."
"Earth's Orbit" is a possesive. Not a noun
