Thanks to everyone for their kind thoughts. It was a rough week medically*, but I'm in recovery mode. I guess the combination of the pain, the medications (10!, plus some injections), and other factors affected my judgment. My mistake which I am attempting to correct.

Meanwhile I figured it would be appropriate to return in this thread, along with pictures. Now, once folks gaze upon my old mugly ug, perhaps you'll all reconsider asking me to return! 8-[

The first is a picture taken just before leaving the homestead in Tennessee (hence the orange t-shirt) a couple years ago for the wilds of N. Mississippi. My prize habanero plants are in the background. They were enjoying the bright sunlight from the west (but I wasn't).

The second is the beautiful sunset over foothills of the Cumberland Mountains by which TN bid me adieu. :-?

Actually, both of those dogs are Australian Shepherds...a type of Collie. "Aussies" are larger than Border Collies but somewhat smaller than "Lassie" Collies! The reddish brown one is "Ruby" a 3 yr old female. The black, white and gold tri color is "Rascal" a 1 yr old male.

Man, I need a hobby.
You get much more interesting results when you move your head during scanning. Rolling the head so the scan detector is always below the point where the head touches the glass gives nice looking panorama views of your head from ear to ear. My kids had great fun with the scanner when I showed them such stuff.

Funny that didn't come up when you were here. We could have hauled out Mark's new King tuba and you both could have Ooohed and aaahed over it. We had to go all the way to the Baltimore Brass company in Catonsville, MD to buy it, so we piggybacked that trip onto a meeting I had at the 'tute a couple of years ago. Small world indeed!

Well, it's nominally about this futuristic society and some rebellious members take over a spaceship and strike out for new horizons. One of the last pieces is "Have You Seen the Stars Tonight" and it's about two people on the ship just before it leaves orbit, and the guy is asking the girl, "have you seen the stars tonight, would you like to go up on A deck and look at them with me?"

It's about stargazing and space travel and the romance of starting out somewhere not knowing where you'll end up, but you're doing it together. We used to play that song during laser light shows at the planetarium...

Well, it's nominally about this futuristic society and some rebellious members take over a spaceship and strike out for new horizons.

Yeah, and later they steal the Genesis project and try to get their revenge on Captain Kirk who marooned them on Seti Alpha Five...

Don't bother. I'll do it. #-o

I agree. Of course, this will make it hard for them to find boyfriends since so many (not all of course, and no one here) men are so easily intimidated by women that are both intelligent and attractive. 8)

Right on SciFi Chick. Course I do have a boyfriend so not all guys are that stupid, just a lot of them in that regard.
And since no one else is gonna explain it, the counselors told us at camp if we found a guy in the girls dorm we were supposed to point at him and shout "boy! boy! boy! boy!" incessantly. :)

Um... I don't know about other men, but my Persian is a lot smarter than I am (working on PhD in physics... speaks three languages... reads and writes in two... much better read than I am in both languages... #-o ) and I wouldn't change anything about her. In fact I keep asking her, "why you you love me??"

She challenges me, we have the most exciting conversations (in English... I don't speak it as well as she does, but its my only language), and we share so many things together. I only hope that she feels that I have enough to give to her.

I thought about looking you up during that visit - but it came together with about an hour's notice, and I made the mistake of taking the marked exit off the beltway rather than heading out the parkway the way I knew. As you'll anticipate, we wound up amid the experimental cornfields...

I'd spent time in the IUE operations room and STS small-payload operations center before, but this was my first visit to actual (once and, someday we hope future) flight hardware. That seems more like real rocket science.

Sometimes you gotta work for it. (http://66.93.0.95/albums/Christmas2003/dscn0321.sized.jpg) That was Christmas 2003, we were trying to make perogies. My girlfriend wasn't so sure that it would work, but it did, in the end.

Unfortunately, no pictures from my trip to JPL yet, since I have the camera, but the better half has the cable. #-o Most of them involved me sleeping however -- by the pool, at the beach, in a car -- so you ain't missing much. Actually, a great majority of pictures of me are me sleeping. Between that, and ones related to food, they pretty much sum up my life.

Well, my BaBB usage has been kinda sporadic for a while, so to answer a couple of PM's. I designed and built the set for the play, "The Merry Wives of Windsor" (for those familiar with the show, I was also Bardolf), during the Shakespeare festival at one of the local theatres. The theatre is extremely small (it used to be a house, built in 1912 and only holds 98 people) and so is the stage. There is no fly system (where set pieces can "fly out" to hide and come in to change scenes). Please remember that in the pictures below. The theatre also has a side area near the stage where several scenes took place. I can't take credit for the fireplace, that was original with the house.

Anyway, this (http://img12.photobucket.com/albums/v30/Tensor/photos/Housescene.jpg) is the main set for the first 4 acts. Moving the benchs and trees, and adding some tables, chairs, and tapestries, it acted as the inside of the house, the outside of the house and street scenes. This is the outside configuration. The windows and doors work.

This (http://img12.photobucket.com/albums/v30/Tensor/photos/Houseright.jpg) photo is the side area. If you look close to the very left, you can see the Main curtain, it's a deep red. This was Doctor Caius House configuration, note the potions in the glass containers and the books. It also had a inkwell and a feather pen. At times it also had a sword.

The last picture, of the set, is the forest (http://img12.photobucket.com/albums/v30/Tensor/photos/forestscene.jpg) scene. It's my favorite and from the oohh and aahhs of the audience seems like it was theirs too. The lighting added wonderfully to this. The sidewalls were hinged, the back wall had panels installed, and the hanging tree drop were manually moved and hung during the large scene change. Note the large tree trunks, on the stage, to the left and right.

And to stay on topic, here's (http://img12.photobucket.com/albums/v30/Tensor/photos/meonset.jpg) me stading on the set.

Not at all, though most free services have very limited bandwidth (i.e. geocities..if more than 1 person is on the site at a time it makes it inaccessable...)

If anyone would be willing to host it for free, that'd be nice. :) I might be able to in the near future.
