Due to using the wrong setting in a file synchronization tool I accidentally deleted a whole bunch of files today. Fortunately the external drive that they were on isn't one that is written to much so they should still be there but I don't know of any good undeletion tools. Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of a decent one? (due to a lack of funds a free one would be ideal)

I use Tuneup Utilities:
http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/

They have a free trial version. Maybe you can use the trial version to undelete your files.

WinUndelete isn't too bad...

No offense to gzhpcu, but TuneUp Utilities is almost more annoying than some of the more severe virus' available.

No offense taken Neverfly, but what don't you like about it?

Aside from it burrowing deep into my registry, it slams me with spamware, monitors my computer, floods my email, changes settings without asking me and refuses to get the heck out when I deliver the eviction notice.
ETA: Forgot to mention, the GUI likes to slow down running processes as well.

Sounds like your typical Symantec product...

Never noticed any of that... Oh well... Never tried to deinstall it... So is it a hassle like trying to deinstall Norton?

Horribly so, yes. And their emails are still filling my spam box.

I like my computer tools to behave like my garage or shop tools.
