What are sporks?

A combination of a spoon and fork, popular for picnics.

At the rate he's going ToSeek could do it over the weekend. Will he become "Bad Professor"?

The Spork is the king of silverware. All the usefullness of the fork and spoon with none of the elegance or class.

I await for the Spork to become the silver covered wedding present of the future.

Damn, oh well looks like i wont win this one. Back to the world domination for me.

Contrary to popular opinion (http://www.badastronomy.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=342327#342327), he's been a PostDoc for a long time now (OK, a short time (http://www.badastronomy.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=169855&highlight=postdoc#169855)) but regardless he's more of a PostDog. Congrats, ToSeek.

 I was lead astray by the topic 'Countdown to PostDoc'. When I saw he was a postdoc, I assumed he had rounded Cape Fear. With 9999 posts, he then needed to have backtracked and deleted some post (like I believe milli360 did?). But of course he simply stopped at 9999 and is now enjoying our state of suspended animation (PANIC!). Oh well, I'm over halfway my first milestone (100 posts) and have had my first new sig (every 50 posts), so I'm getting there...

As Grand Vizier noted (http://www.badastronomy.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=342327#342327), the discrepancy in the counts happened before he reached 9999.

I'm not sure how it works, but I know for a fact that there are other posters with similar discrepancies. Of course, none of them are anywhere near 9999. :)

software is my life :)

and it'll be the death of me.

The phpBB software allows simple time-restricted retrievals, so the ToSeek bug doesn't kick in if you restrict the search to the past week. It also allows you to restrict your retrieval to a particular forum, and have the results sorted by topic title--which gives us your Glom Number (http://www.badastronomy.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=342525#342525) -- 437. But that's not even close to the record--which, I think, is sitting at 1640 right now, out of 14957 posts. I already have twice as many as kilopi and milli360 combined.

ToSeek
2004-Oct-07, 06:07 PM
You can also do this:

http://www.badastronomy.com/phpBB/search.php?search_author=ToSeek&start=25

But it requires editing the URL by hand.

I don't know what "BPD * 3" means, but I see that ToSeek
currently has a post count of exactly 15,000. You'll have
to abstain from posting for a week so we all have time to
