We have robins year-round, but they're not the same robins. The winter robins move up into the mountains for the summer, and the summer robins come up from further south.
The best description of yesterday here is "unsettled." Hard rain in the wee hours, followed by fairly high winds, followed by sun. The temperature display in the car said 50F late in the afternoon but it sure didn't feel that warm.

Hi all!
I'm in the Pacific North West and the weather here is pretty cold! I'd say right now it's in the 40's or so??
We get a lot of rain out here but thankfully today it is pretty dry but that could easily change...

If you're expecting it to get better "soon", you haven't lived here long! At the moment we're having what the natives refer to as "hail" here in Everett. Actually sleet. I've seen actual hail here maybe twice in 40+ years.
Oh, and Welcome!

If it wasn't a full moon, I'd take my scope out to view it. However, a full moon is tough because there's no shadows or terminator and it's a lot tougher to see much detail because of the lack of contrast. I might get out the scope anyways and check out Jupiter and Mars tonight.

Windy!
We're forecast for 60 mph winds. Currently a stiff breeze blowing, probably 35 mph. If the winds intensify to 60 mph, that will likely create near white-out conditions (blowing sand and dust) for travelers and truckdrivers (two interstate highways run through my city). Nearest town west of us is 55 miles distant; next over from it is another 60 miles. Lots of wide-open wilderness and people driving through it. :(

Indeed. I'm in the alternate area (Port Townsend) at present. Snowed like crazy this morning from about 7:00 to 9:00. Level three blizzard (total whiteout) since 3pm yesterday. Do not even know the wind speed because the gauge was destroyed. We have run out of ore. Everyone is at the main accommodations area. You can go to the process plant and the truck shop via the arctic corridor; but all the vehicles to be fixed are fixed and you can not go outside to get more. The only thing one can do is clean up. We have hundreds of people stuck in Edmonton and Yellowknife who can not get to the mine site and hundreds here that want to go home---shift changes are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Lucky for me my shift change is not until the 4th of April: I hope the storm has broke by then!

Here we are in the middle of a warm spell. Yesterday was nice and warm and decided to hike around the property. Got to a stream I haven't crossed in long time and now has a lot of water rushing thru it. Stepped on a peice of ice that I thought would hold my my weight. Then splash, over my rubber boots and now my left foot is sore. Had to hike the rest of the way way home. I aslo lost my earphones but given how my foot feels I leave them there. But I did see a a hare looks like he just about to change coats he was mostly white with a little grey showing thru.

Not only are we in a heat wave (expected 100 deg today), we're also in a dry wave. On top of all that, we're contending with the Waldo Canyon Fire (http://www.krdo.com/news/Wildfire-prompts-evacuations-near-Waldo-Canyon/-/417220/15220000/-/bfw23s/-/index.html). I haven't been evacuated yet, but the edge of the current evacuation area is just a couple hundred yards from where I live.
I pre-positioned some stuff with some relatives last night. The rest is in my truck, so if I have to go, it's lights out, A/C off, door locked, and gone. I'll try not to forget to pull on a pair of pants -- wouldn't want to scare my neighbors!

I've been in the panhandle of Florida and due to return to points south of Tampa tomorrow on a five day anniversary trip. We've been visiting some places we lived and worked, saw our first house, and where our first daughter was born. It's been rainy and windy the last couple of days. Will be the same on the trip home tomorrow. Oh, by the way, did I mention our trip was by motorcycle? No? Ahhhhhhh, the joys of wet weather traveling. At least I have a fairing and wet weather gear.

Oh, I remember what that was like. I didn't have a fairing though. Ugh.
The wind never seems to stop here. I've been trying to complete a project in dead timber on the upper slopes of a small mountain near here and am several weeks late finishing it. Because of the danger of falling trees, any time the wind blows over 20 km/h, I go back home. Or don't bother to leave the house in the first place. A change in career is imminent. And retirement is looking better every day.

Not a heat wave here, just normal temps. However, we're accustomed to average humidity of 10%, so this current (35%) ... yeah, feeling it a bit. Which is weird, because I was born/raised in Midwest (where 35% is bone dry). But it's been 20 years since I lived in humid country.

After several weeks with hardly any wetness, we finally got rain today, but apparently we have a tornado now. Go figure.
No tornado here, but with straight-line winds recorded as high as 88mph, didn't need to be. Our town was hit pretty hard. Storm came through last Friday, still some 1,900 without power. Took a drive around town to look at all the snapped utility poles, downed trees on houses, and there's a few cars that were flattened. Fortunately, no injuries directly from the storm were recorded. But with all those without power, and temps that have been near 100 degrees each day, I worry about the young, the elderly, and those with medical conditions.
While huge chunks from every tree lining my street came down, they missed my house. I had one tree in my yard come down, but it didn't quite reach the home itself when it fell, and it's not a particularly big one anyway. *We* were only without power for six hours on Sunday after a second storm came through and again knocked out chunks of the power grid. Was without TV/Internet/Cell service (tower damaged) for about five days, but those services have been restored for us now. I can't complain.
. . . working in the Insurance industry, I've been rather busy since Friday though. Fun stuff. Could have been much worse though.

We're working on something like 15+ out of the last 20 days over 90, and we're so far down on rain it's pathetic. We're -8 inches for the year, -2+ for the summer...even the weeds in the front yard are burnt brown and not growing. Haven't mowed the lawn in almost two months -- nothing's growing, and if I mow it I'll kill it.
Just wish it could cool off in the evenings -- I've spent several nights asleep on the front porch 'cause the house just won't cool off (AC runs the power bill thru the roof). I've learned to be relatively comfortable tucking my 6'1" oversize frame onto a padded 4' or so bench...but at least there's a bit of a cool breeze.
