The article did mention the number 5, which could be a V in Roman Numerals. And it was a rather interesting theory.

Did Phil cover anything on Vel in his book?

The V clearly stands for "five," but I'd bet Chambers and Lissauer, if they were the ones responsible for the name Planet V, were aware of the double meaning before they went public with it.

And Phil's book has a whole chapter, chapter 18, named Worlds in Derision: Velikovsky vs. Modern Science.
