Colonizing Ida and Dactyl

For some reason I think it would be cool if they built a base on Dactyl. I like the idea of having a station on an asteroid orbiting another one that's small enough to walk around in a matter of minutes. It would be a completely useless thing to do... But they should do it anyway.

Frankly, I be ecstatic if we had the kind of $ available for space exploration that would allow us to something like that that was completely useless but we did it anyways. Though I'd argue that something like that wouldn't be completely useless; there's always science that can be done.

It would be impossible to walk around Dactyl. After every step you would have to wait falling back. Even a small kick would be enough to send you away.
