The are Chinese getting into the manned space bussiness, and there is a possibility that they may even have a moon program. A while back there was a thread where people were worried that the Chinese may desecrate our landing sites. I thought the other day that since the US is showing no inclination to go back to the moon, let alone Mars, and since the Chinese are becoming our adversaries, what if they get to the moon, land at the A-11 site and claim that there is nothing there? :x The HBs would be saying: See see we told you we didn't have the technology back in the 60's. We would know they are lieing, but how could we prove it? The arguments we use to blow away the HB's wouldn't work, theyv'e never been to the moon. But if there is a Chinanaut standing on the rim of Little West crater saying there is nothing here, what could we say. 8-[ Of course the Richard Hoaglands would be jumping up and down saying that the alians cleaned up our mess. :roll:

While you are probably right in stating that another nation will get back to the moon before NASA does, I suspect that several of the moon probes that will be launched in the next couple of years will show the landing sites.

Well, in a way you're right. If anyone says we didn't go to the moon the nutcases will scream about it for years. I really doubt that China would stoop so low though. I'm waiting for the Shenzou to hit the ISS and take the Astronauts prisoner myself. :wink:

If they did actually make to one of the landing sites, they would have to remove everything and fix the footprints. I think would probably be impossible.

Why should a self-respecting HB believe the Chinese that they went to the moon when the Chinese should claim this?

Oh, I forgot that HBs logic is so elastic that a blob of flubber is hard as a diamond compared with it... :P

PS: And if the Chinese would do such a childish thing like denying, why have they translated dave Harland's "Exploring the Moon" into Chinese?
