Hi all

Here's an image + animation of Jupiter + Io, captured on the morning of the 3rd March. Seeing was a solid 6/10 but didn't quite reach 7/10. It took quite a bit of extra processing work to get them acceptable.

Animation (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/downloads/20080303-jupiter_anim.gif) (500kb gif)

And my first 2008 Jupiter animation can be seen by clicking on the link. I'm hoping it's the first of many more to come.

Captured with my 12" newt on EQ6, using DMK21AU04 + 5x powermate, at 30fps (1/30s exposure) for 50 seconds each channel. Approx 500 frames were used in each stack.

Thanks for looking.

Great job on your capture and animation. at this early stage of observation of the large gas giant. Simply outstanding! Clear Skies my friend.

We didn't have to wait very long for these shots of Jupiter. They're very nice.

What SW do you use for the animation?

It will be a couple years before we'll have it at this altitude, so until then, we'll be depending on yours, and others in the south to see what is happening with the cloud structure.
