I took advantage of the convenient positioning of Auriga in Jan/Feb, and spent several hours taking exposures of the emission nebula, IC410, surrounding the star cluster NGC1893, both located about 12000 ly from us. Notice the two galactic scale "Tadpoles" near the center of the cluster, each with tails several ly in length.

The exposures were taken with a H9 through a TV 0.8X FL/RD on a 80ED at f/6. Total combined HaRGB exposure time is just under 8hrs.

Great shot Robert!, The tadpoles could be easily seen. Lots of effot with great results. looking forward to see more and Clear Skies.

Nice shot of the whole nebula. It's too big for my system and I'm not into mosaics as yet. My processing has a ways to go. That does remind me I was going to do a color shot of this and hopefully in better seeing than my Ha only shot from last winter. So far the skies aren't cooperating and its getting into the trees to the NW that shield snow from the observatory. Might have to wait until next year now.

Top shot. I love the contrasting reflective tadpoles in your patiently constructed emission mosaic.

Kind regards
Matt

All:

Thanks for taking a look. By the way, Rick, your "baby frogs" Ha shot shows nice detail, I'll have to take a close-up, of them, with the Mewlon, sometime in the future.
