Look up , look way up.
That is exactly what a special camera near Collingwood (http://aquarid.physics.uwo.ca/all_sky.htm) is doing every night, all year long.
The camera is part of the All Sky Camera Network and is part of the largest meteorite detection system in Eastern Canada and the United States.
University of Western Ontario Professor and Astronomer Peter Brown is one of the people behind the network and says the Collingwood camera is part of a joint project with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.

You might want to see this amateur sky imaging project (http://www.karhukamera.com/). Its idea was to take images of familiar phenomena and to provide weather information for local amateur observatory users. The camera has observed the sky since January 1, 2005 and has produces a new image in every minute. There are over a million images collected in a database by now. A day's forth of images (1440 of them) are combined in a 56 second long video. Definitely worth to see, the images have rather good quality as they're taken using a real digital camera.

An example image (http://www.karhukamera.com/item.php?item=4795423) dated on December 31, 2006 showing new year's fireworks. A video (http://www.karhukamera.com/item.php?item=5071448&s=4&lan=en) from that day. As you can see, days there are not too long at that time of year...
