Well, if you're going to put out a trailer before you have any of the music or special effects, you're going to have a hard time. The director's cut trailer is far better even though it includes a lot of the same images.

Totally kidding...actually, it's grown on me over the years, and these days I'll watch it if I stumble on it. However, it falls far short of the best later movies by comparison.

You probably chose the worst one of the bunch. Did you watch the others? Besides, in the late 70's, it was considered pretty good.
