To answer your previous 2 questions:

The consensus seems to be 30 posts to become a member & 100 to become Senior member, nothing after that. These are not serious 'ranks' since all posts on this board tend to be judged on their individual merit & not how long a member has been here/how many posts they have made.

To start a new thread click the 'New Thread' icon on the left either above or below the forum you're in. Please take time to make sure you're posting in a forum that is appropriate for your topic, else the mods will probably end up moving it :)

Other than that, I'd suggest you read the FAQ's if you haven't already & enjoy your time on this board. Welcome Jack Roach :D
