I noticed you weren't on the IRC channel.

How do you connect to the IRC channel? I found the thread, but it only gave instructions for connecting with what I guess are mIRC presets.. I'm using Chatzilla from inside the Firefox browser, do you know what server to connect to specifically?

If you're in North America, irc.us.sorcery.net, if you're in Europe, irc.eu.sorcery.net, otherwise just irc.sorcery.net.

Naw. Awhile back, Tuffel got sick and that's when Bob showed up in the Bad Medicine thread, and he specifically said he was Tuffel's roommate, and that's when we found out that Tuffel's real name is Paul. :D

I had better post this before I forget...

We will be vacationing (YEAH!!!) "down" in San Diego, from the 24th of April till the 30th...so I won't be posting, unless I happen to "bump" into a cyber cafe. :)

BTW...where the heck is Humphrey??...I haven't seen any posts from him in quite a while. I see that this has been asked before, back on the 8th.

Have a great vacation.

Thanks, it's gonna be GREAT!! And I was just thinking...I can go visit the Ruben H. Fleet Space Museum while I'm there...YIPPIE...I'll make sure and take some good pictures to share when I get back!

Edited to add...The Reuben H. Fleet Space Museum??? What in the heck is that??

It's the Reuben H. Fleet Space Theatre. And I didn't even mean to say that! I meant to say that I'll be going to the San Diego Aerospace Museum. I don't know where my head was yesterday. Now I guess I'll have to go to both. :)

I'll be away for the rest of this week. Science Olympiad State Finals are coming up, and I don't think we'll make it. Our school, El Rancho, won 7 consecutive state championships, but I don't know this year... :( Anyway's I'll tell you guys how I did next Saturday. Hopefully I'll get that gold medal in astronomy.

My Events are
1. Astronomy
2. Meteorology
3. Rivers & Lakes

If anyone's interested, the official site of Science Olympiad is http://www.soinc.org/

Wish me luck, I guess. :D

With regards to Humphrey, I wrote him an E-Mail asking him, more importantly, if he was OK. It's not like him to be away for this long, so I was concerned that something may have happened. He did respond, and has given me permission to post his reply here for everyone:

Hey man.
I have been here the entire time. I was hoping that the guys on the BABB irc would say somthing but i guess they did not. I went for srping break and during spring break i promised myself that i would not go onto the babb untill i applied for graduate school and actually finished the application. It was my personal vow and punishment (yes, not going on the babb is a punishment for me :-) ). Well today actually i am finally getting around to finishing the damn thing. I will be away on saturday and on monday i have a final. Sooo...Expect a visit from your world leader tesday. :-) I will post a long thread about what i have been up to and done.

[p.s. You can post this on the forums. I give you permission]

Lonewulf has been hanging out at my place (http://www.illuminati-r-us.com/Forums/) a lot lately.

He eats those that have trouble getting away from him.

We like that.

Plus he's incredibly funny and a barrel of fun and he speaks the plain truth to Candy, which is good and bad, I suppose.
(Mostly good) :)

Not to mention to Bill Thompson too.

Sorry to hear about Maksutov, I hope he is better soon. Lonewulf has stuck his nose in a couple of times, but much less frequently.

What happened to Andromeda321? I hope she is just busy with school.

Email her TM. She seemed really fed up, maybe she's calmed down now. I emailled her about 2 weeks ago and she sent me a rather cryptic response. Asked me (and everyone else) to take care of one of the other poster's on here, shouldn't mention names publicly though.

Strange thing was, in her email response to me her name appeared as ***** *****.

Don't know if her name is always blanked out on her emails or whether she went to the actual trouble of doing it just because she was emailling a BAUTer. I'm suspecting the latter, but it still seems a bit bizarre.

Candy is permanently banned. Haven't seen Lonewulf for a long time as well, but I don't think he's banned. Maybe he just got bored from this forum?

Carnifex, suggest you look at this post to find out Lonewulf's fairly recent thoughts on BAUT.

Jeesh, I remember when I liked posting and reading on the BAUT. I'm about BAUTed out in my life now, though.

It was a "pleasure", peeps.

Hope you've changed your mind mate. The more the merrier afterall!

There are a few things that are getting to me on the BAUT, and a couple of other posters; not to mention some of the methods of the moderators. Go figure, that's forum politics for you. I won't go into details, mainly because, to be honest, I really don't care that much anymore. BAUT has been a good place to me, and fun for learning and discussing. But I'm not after that anymore.

Maybe in the future I will be. For now, though, I really don't like the chains put on me in the BAUT (on the other hand, I don't want to deal with those that act out when unchained, so I'm not saying that BAUT is wrong to do so). The BAUT is good for a very family-friendly forum that deals with discussion, debate, and knowledge. For that, I praise it.

I'd say more, but I'm not of an orderly mindset right now. I rarely am, really; I'm a bit chaotic in my head, with a million thoughts going on at once. Once I start on something, I want to get it over with just to go onto another thing. I have a feeling that this might explain a lot about me.

I'll still peek in once in a while, but probably not that often. I still have a lot of respect for a lot of people, though; especially the moderators and the Bad Astronomer. Man, you guys have to deal with so much...

Mate, no worries.

I understand where you're coming from. And I want to thank you for sticking up for me at one point in the past - I think one of the comments you made about some of my posting was right on the money! Glad to know someone got it!

haha roflmao!

Hopefully look forward to seeing you round here when New Horizons starts sending back photos from the edge of nowhere! Will be interesting to know how this place looks when that happens.......

Anyway, if you do drop by every now and again, even if you make just the 1 or 2 posts when you drop by it will be appreciated - rather than just a silent lurk.

Anyway, best of luck buddy! Come to Australia sometime!

Cheers.

Whatever happened to Karl?

I'm still around, but don't look in that often.

At the moment I'm up to my eyeballs in new data, and designing an instrument for a new mission.

I got married a couple of years ago to a wonderful lady, and I find that spending time with her is a lot better than spending it with you guys. :-)

Oh WOW! that is so much good news Karl ! (your signature bold, as it were). I always enjoyed your posts. Hope you find some time to continue despite the strife.... err I mean wife ;)

Edit: just realised you have been around, my bad for not checking the other fora too often :)

Yeah that's pretty much it: all in all there's just a lot of work to do and too little time to do it in! Plus coming back to this forum after a long while can be a little daunting due to information overload... I'm on spring break now so I'll see if I can catch up a little. :)

I know. Either that, or Humphrey (the turtle) is just about to set in motion its plan for world domination, and has imprisoned (Humphrey the BABBler) to keep him from blowing the whistle.

Do I have any volunteers for the commando rescue raid?
