I was down at the local market and in the cleaning products section, what did my disbelieving eyes see?

Anti-bacterial Bleach.... By the Clorox company... with triclosan. (How do they keep the bleach from oxidizing the triclosan?) Now I know companies are in business to sell stuff people want, but come on!

(Sound of a wingnut shearing and flying off at trans-sonic speed)

All right! That's it! I need all you nice folks to help me with a letter writing campaign to the Department of Defense! As we all know, the Soviets and the Chinese have an extensive biological warfare program in place and I just can't be sure of all our safety unless every nuclear warhead in our arsenal contains at least 50 gallons (US) of triclosan! I just don't trust the 10 million degree fireball and 5 thousand atmosphere overpressure to do the job! Nope, totally won't do! We need triclosan, the only substance in the universe that can harm single celled organisms! Rant, rave...!

(Brother comes in with tranc gun, fires thorizine/valium combo into right thigh)

Have a nice germ free day folks

You know, a few years ago I saw a garden hose in K-Mart that was proudly marked "Y2K compatible"...

Doesn't bleach kill bacteria all on it's own?

At 00:00 on 1 January 2000 it would have reset the water flow to whatever it had been set to on 1 January 1900, resulting in a terrible overwatering of the roses.
:p

Not only that, but bleach also kills viruses, putting it one up on most antibacterial substances.

We joke, but it was amazing the things they were checking for Y2K compliance . . . like 40 year old elevators with electromechanical control systems because somebody got it into their head that there could be a clock in it someplace that might go wonky at the witching hour. So somebody had to spend serious time to research the elevator and officially sign off that it was Y2K compliant. I know that happened in our organization, at least.

Reminds me of when Vess soda company in St. louis, MO. started marketing their soda as having 'no cholesterol'. The long and loud laughter made vess stop real fast. The bleach thing will probably generate lots of sales, everyone knows that germs are icky and dangerous.

:)

two quick edits for spelling.
