Here are some afocal shots of a striking scimitar-like prominence that was visible on Sunday afternoon, April 2. I just missed capturing an ariliner flying across the Sun's disk but I did get the contrail. The equipment used was a 40mm f/10 Coronado PST, a 30mm Celestron Ultima, a Canon EOS Digital Rebel DSLR, and a Canon EF-S 18-55mm lens.

Those are especially cool photos. I love the scimitar prominence. In a way it's more interesting not having the airliner, because then it's like, "What did that?" And, of course, the explanation is simple.
