In the anything-for-a-quick-buck category:

Last week, the producers of a profitable but failed 2003 attempt to contact the late Princess Diana, announced plans to shoot a new pay-per-view seance to contact Lennon, who was murdered over 25 years ago by Mark David Chapman outside Manhattan's Dakota apartment building where he lived.http://tv.yahoo.com/news/va/20060321/114299409500.html

I guess anybody ignorant enough to part with $9.95 for something like this deserves to be separated from their assets.

I think that if I ever end up being a "somebody," I'll put this provision in my will:

"If you ever try to contact me after my death, I will curse you and your descendants with the worst pain and fear imaginable."

Anyone who is inclined to believe in seances will also probably be inclined to believe that I could do that. So, none of that nonsense for me!

If they bother to read your will they'll just ignore that part, sales are better if the customers aren't scared away.

What I'd advise doing is what Houdini did, create a code message and tell it only to one person who you trust, then announce publicly that if you do come back from the dead you'll use this code phrase. (You should probably make sure that this person you trust is never going to tell the code to a medium, as Mrs. Houdini did.)

With luck that'll prevent anyone from starting one of these seances, if they can't get the code word they'll lose their audience.

Alternativly, just announce that you'll curse anyone who tries to contact your spirit, make sure that everyone hears you say this.
