The chalk drawings I've seen before. They're all over London thanks to some festival or something.

I think my mind is starting to bend slightly. . .

That perspective trick in the lower two pictures is really amazing.

Those are cool. A friend sent a bunch to me at home a couple weeks back; and my daughters 4th grade class pulled them up at school earlier this week.

Can't be THAT difficult to recreate. I wonder what the trick is?

Maybe they projected the image onto the hallway and just painted over the image. That would work, right?

The trick is compensating for the effects of perspective. You make the top of the image wider than the bottom so that they look like they're standing up, rather than lying on the ground.

Oh, I was talking about the other image.

Interesting "Eclipse of Mars" where the researcher claims cyan can not be reproduced on computer monitors. That would be a cool fact.

Wow. I wonder if you have to take a picture from that exact vantage point to see the perspective.

eta: Check out the "3d painted rooms" link. Even more Wow!

I would say yes, certainly.

Well, to see the correct perspective, anyway. ;)

My art teacher showed these to me about a year ago. I'm not really interesting in making one myself, but she wants me to design & create one badly. She wants one of a tulip bed, actually. I really dislike still lives. *sigh*

I agree with hippie on the still live stuff- very ugly unless one is in the right spot. Making the rest of the spots people walk most disconcerting. Talk about programing people to find the "correct" perspective - I can only hope this stuff goes the way of artificial flowers.

I need a Tylenol after those.
