NEW YEAR'S MOON: There's going to be an unusual New Moon on Dec. 31, 2005. It's the second New Moon in less than a month. When there are two *Full* Moons in a month, we give the second one a special name, "Blue Moon." Maybe the second *New* Moon should have a special name, too. SpaceWeather readers have made their suggestions, and we've picked a favorite.

we wouldn't have this `problem` if the month were exactly one `moonth`...

BTW, i wonder if the reason it hasn't a name is because it’s the 13th New Moon, and viewed as pagan etc...

Let's celebrate by taking a second to reflect on the matter. Add another second to the clock that day, so it doesn't take away from our other activities. :)
