Ohio State University scientists have thought of a new way to solve an astronomical mystery, and their plan relies on a well-connected network of amateur stargazers and one very elusive subatomic particle.

(Yes, I know this has already been mentioned here (http://64.207.216.12/showthread.php?t=36143), but only as a side issue. I thought it deserved its own thread.)

Sounds very exciting, both in terms of the potential scientific information and in terms of the opportunity for active participation. Similar to Einstein at Home and LHC at home, but with a more active role for the layman.
