Have I missed something, or is there a definate lack of airtime about the martian rovers? So much photo-imagery is available, but Discovery and Nat Geo continue to repeat old material.
(TV here in the UK...it might be different for Americans.)

Has anyone seen a current Spirit or Opportunity documentary?

Nope, it is the same in the US. It is at least a year since I've seen any documentary on TV about them.

They aren't interesting to the media anymore. Media shelf life is about 1-3 months max. Unless they discover something of an outstanding nature the pop media will continue to ignore them from now until they add a footnote to history saying that they died.

On this note, though, Steve Squires will be giving a public lecture on the University of Illinois (@ Urbana-Campus) in March. So there may be some around here then.

(I get to go to lunch with Steve Squires! :D Sorry, but I'm still thrilled at that prospect.)

I think Cassini and Deep Impact have stole the spotlight

in july all the space news was about the triumphant return to flight of the shuttle, and then the "near disaster' of the foam coming off.
other than a few Hubble pics here and there, i don't think i've sen ANY space news lately.
