when a Type I or Type II star explodes, it leaves in some cases a neutron star. now apparently supernovae, 1987A is the most studied supernovae so my question is this;
we see the ramifications of the supernovae explosion as an energy cloud so to speak, that is moving towards us. but what does this explosion DO to stars and/or systems that are closer,much closer, than us,to this explosion,to the side, behind,above and below too the supernovae its self?
Nereid when you asked me what would i observe,if given the chance, i changed my mind, what i would like to observe is the before and after, of space and systems that are much more local to the supernovae and the changes that they go through. or is there any observations of the before and after, of any region of space that supernovaes have occured? if so what are they?
