Silly question, but since Moon Man was banned, why do I still see him in the list of currently active users at the bottom of the screen?

Edit - he's gone now, but I definitely saw him on the list hours after the banning. I even clicked on it to make sure it was the same person, not just someone with a similar name, and the profile came up as banned...

Because he was unbanned - by popular demand.

Edit to add:

My bad. I looked at the heading for the "Banned Posters " thread and didn't see any new posts had been added. I now realise that To Seek edited his post to say that Moon Man has been rebanned, rather than add a post.

Well, yes, but he was rebanned, and he appeared on the list hours after the second banning...

The list probably just takes some time to update.

He is banned for good now.

Banned... doesn't that simply mean the person can't post...
But can still login?

Or can't he log in after being banned

He can still come here as a guest to read, but he cannot login to post.

He can still come here as a guest to read, but he cannot login to post. That means that he should not appear in the Currently Active Users list, right?

Perhaps it was a sock puppet?

Wouldn't it be a good thing for a banned person to be able
to get in to read that the reason he can't get in is that he
has been banned? :-) If his login cookie still exists, a
banned person will only know that he can't get in, not that
he has been banned. I can't guess whether that would
increase or decrease the number of banned people
registering under new identities.

Maybe he never logged out before he was banned? Would that leave him in a permanently logged in state?

I like the topics and posts, but I care to retire the RiverTree account. There are many a good learning thread.

Is there any kind of Honorable Discharge or do I just stay on the sidelines as a member (albeit inactive one) ?

If it helps the board, then please leave me on the (inactive) roster. If not, then please grant or advise me toward retirement.

Thanks for the entertainment and education. --- This is a cool place 2 exchange ideas.

The River Tree grows best.
It grows by the river
where it finds
water and sunshine.
In the perfect place
is this tree of life.

The tree's own attraction
to the water of life
is its own downfall.
It grows closer and closer
to the river,
then starts to lean.

Inevitably it falls.
It can go any which way
but gravitates toward the water.
If the tree is big enough,
then it can reach to the other side.
This is how bridges are made.

Best wishes from Rivertree, retired.
