Does anyone know what the name of the planned(?) space interferometer is? I think it's supposed to have a heliocentric orbit, or maybe reside in a LaGrange Point.

Perhaps you are referring to LISA, the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna. The three spacecraft will orbit the Sun at 1 AU 20 degrees behind the Earth's orbit.
LISA will use laster interferometry to search for graviational waves. You can find the mission web site at
