I think as of present, Mr. Clarke is in Sri Lanka...but we've got member from that part of the world. Can we possibly invite him to the forums or do an online interview with him? It'd make good press, and we can also learn about Mr. Clarke's worldview. I'm sure both members and guests alike would love that.

That's an excellent idea. Arthur C. Clarke is one of my very favorite science fiction authors and futurists.

I fully agree with you, Dave. :) It would be fantastic to have him give an interview here on the UT forums! I would really love to see him interviewed, by Fraser, if that were possible!
What about it, Fraser? As StarLab says: "Itīd make good press" for UT! :)

Thanks for your enthusiasm. I've got some contacts, and I'll see what I can do. I promise nothing.

That would be very cool. I realize it could be a huge task, but if it works out, perhaps celebrity interviews could be a semi-regular feature on this forum.

Celebrity interviews would surely be a great incentive for others to join us on the forums as well as an incentive for "UTers" to take a more active role.
Athur C. Clarke's books were among those first few that got me hooked on SciFi for the rest of my days. :) I was introduced to his writing by the school librarian when I was about 11 or 12, I think. I shall always be grateful to her for setting me on this track! :) I clearly remember the desire with which I looked for his next book as soon as I finished reading the one I had at that moment! :)

Also, people like David Suzuki and Terrence Dickinson would be very interesting guests.
