Not to cast aspersions (they're heavy, tough on the hands, and they tend to hook to the left) on this pristine example of an astronomically-based website, but there's a new playa in town...
Astro Guiding (www.astroguiding.com) is an astronomy-specific website that I was invited to join. My curiosity piqued, I investigated.
Specific MODERATED forums...late-breaking astro- and space news...clubs/events/star parties...sale/trade/wanted (!)...general discussions, off topic, beginners, binoculars, reflectors, refractors, cats, eyepieces...amateur 'scope making...numerous brand-specific forums...beginning/digital/film astrophotography...observing in all its flavors...and various related yet different topics...
Being a student of the shooting sports and their applications to self-defense, I once came up with an analogy that applies to the BABB and Astro Guiding...to paraphrase, both the boards deal with the stars. One majors in How and minors in Why, and the other majors in Why and minors in How -- and the split in both cases is 51-49%...
Astro Guiding deserves a checkout.
