Cassini Approaches Third Titan Flyby (http://www.spacedaily.com/news/saturn-titan-05j.html)


The third targeted flyby of Titan occurs on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at 6:58 SCET (Ground: 8:06 UTC - 12:06 AM Pacific time). Cassini’s closest approach to Saturn’s largest satellite is at an altitude of 1577 km (980 miles) above the surface at a speed of 6.1 kilometers per second (14,000 mph).

Apparently, this time, they're gonna double up radar with infrared. The last radar pics had no reference frame for the sonar-impaired...

I can't wait to see comparisons of the radar, ISS, and VIMS images! :D

I get a little over excited by this kind of stuff, sometimes. :oops:

:D My only 'serious' question is: How does this new info square with variable G? :wink:
