Tonight in my local market Sci-fi is airing episode 101 of Proof Positive. They will be addressing an issue that was one of the first de-bunkings that I was so glad that TBA covered.

If the video clip on their website (http://www.scifi.com/proofpositive/)is any indication, don't get your hopes up.
You might want to move this thread to Bad TV!Bad Movies! No Doughnut.
Sheesh, I just noticed the BA didn't just type donut. :P

Well, I watched it...8-[...and it could have been a lot worse! :)
There were 3 stories...
The first was about rods, which the show actually debunked!! Turns out that they're just insects, blurred by motion...go figure...
The 2nd was about a "haunted Lighthouse" where a "ghostly light" is seen by the residents of the area. That one turned out to be a reflection of nearby harbour lights. Another debunking! Then they had to go and ruin it by claiming that the lock on the light house was broken by some mysterious force.
The 3rd story was about a police detective who believes that he is the reincarnation of some artist (or something, I didn't actually watch that one) The shows producers gave him a polygraph, which they determined proved that he wasn't lying when he said that he had no prior knowledge of the artist. This was the story that they considered proof positive.

Yeah, I watched it too. The problem I see with their "proof positive" in this case is that a polygraph simply relates what the person believes to be the truth. A lie detector can't address the issue of objective truth. So, I'd say that this isn't "proof" for reincarnation but rather one of those cases that makes you say "hmm..." but isn't enough for proof.

I think that it actually was proof positive that the "detective" was able to "beat" (to a degree) the polygraph. It's interesting that the producers of the show didn't like the results of the 1st test, (inconclusive), so they conducted a 2nd test...and, surprise!!...they liked the results of the 2nd test better than the 1st!!

Yes. I'm pretty well convinced that Nancy Lieder would pass a lie detector test if asked about the Zetans, but that doesn't mean there are Zetans, just that she believes that there are.

To move, would violate the spirit of the thread. It is a celebration of an anniversary and I really did mean to congratulate our kind host Dr. Plait (sorry if dr. phil was out of line), besides back then there was only one forum.

No problem there, I only expected the worst from the first moment I saw the doodle bug images on their advertisment.
