Fresh, maybe 2 -3 weeks old..... Rovers have been here recently. Or else a Jawa sandcrawler....

Really awesome, it would be nice to match up orbital pics with the features visible in this.

Top o' the hills!

NASA's homegrown panoramas are up:

371 kb (http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/gallery/press/spirit/20040811a/site_85_navcam_360_cyl-A217R1_br2.jpg)

1.2 MB (http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/gallery/press/spirit/20040811a/site_85_navcam_360_cyl-A217R1.jpg)

You can really see off in the distance with the large file....

Finally - got it to work!

I made a QTVR of the panorama above - Admittedly, NASA did the heavy lifting by stitching it nicely, but still:

It's 2.4 megs - so go gently on my bandwidth, fellas!

You do need QuickTime to view it -hope you like it - love that being there feelin'

Posted a new QTVR file of Spirit's location - (spirit_2_360.mov) just a bit further up from the last one. I guess they are parking here until Mars comes out from behind the Sun again.

You can see the "glacier tracks/streambed" in this one.

It's 3.1 megs, go easy on the bandwidth folks!

Last call! Gotta free up some space on the webpage and I need to delete the QTVRs this weekend. Get 'em while they're hot!

PS _ I am working on an Apollo 12 pan QTVR which I will post later, but over on the Lunar board.
