I recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 and discovered at least one problem so far (after using it for a week now).
The problem was in the browser - the Java Script was not working and/or defective in the browser that came with the upgrade (IE 8).
So I Googled "Java Script" and one result was about the browser program being defective. It was explained how and a "fix" was offered (free) with a scan and repair. I bit the bullet and ran the free part and was amazed that the fix worked! The rest of the repair offer concerned "making your computer run more effeciently", etc., so didn't opt for the $40 cost of the rest of the program. This download was from "FixCleaner".
Overall, I don't like the new Windows 7 but like previous Windows upgrades, it seems the newer version always has new problems though the older ones were supposidly fixed. Why does this always seem to happen? Job security for the developers:evil:
So how about you? If you upgraded or replaced your service pack, what were your results?

I am going to die by saying this too often (yes, I am the mac to linux convert), but my wife's Windows 7 machine is pretty nice. She took the hard way/easy way upgrade and replaced her whole computer. Windows 7 isn't just a "better" Vista; it seems to be designed to do the most with the least fuss. I can't complain.

I especially like how the system identifies printers, scanners and cameras with very intelligent prompts.

Yes, I had problems since it wouldn't recognize parts of my laptop and the mfr refused to release new drivers, luckily I was trying a pirate copy instead of paying for it (since they had stopped the trial ability I was told). It would just lock up every once in a while, but at least it would come back to normal. so, I'm staying with Vista for now.
